Flowar Powar!
My mum reeeally likes flowers. Our house always has flowers all over.
But I don't think that's why I like to draw flowers! Hahahaha. Maybe it's 'cos I find them fun to draw.
Anyway, have a looksie.

Flower in a vase - A5, black marker

Full-on doodle, 24/6/11, during which class? I wonder.

The Medusa Hat
So I sat down with my sketchbook, took a pencil & started moving my hand around.
Somehow, it came to this..?

Draft - even I was surprised when I saw the Medusa crap.

Face finished, let's move on to the Medusa Hat!

Close up #1 - sorry for weird angle hahaha!

Close up #2 - yes, that is the carpet in my room.

Et voila!

Omg I see a hair on my carpet, I THINK IT'S MINE. >:(
I'm balding aaahhhhh...

MY ARSENAL OF BLACK MARKERS!
Side note: I "support" Man Utd, but only because I have a Man Utd t-shirt.
I don't actually watch any football. :-/

From the front:
ZIG Laundry pen
Why the heck did I even buy this thing.

Tombo Calligraphy Pen - from Kinokuniya
It's the shit, I found out about it at the Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Convention, or STGCC - used it for the Medusa Hat girl's face

ZIG Clean Colour Markers (Black)
Don't laugh at the sticker with my name on it, it's so that I can differentiate which markers I've started using! Don't h8 on the stickers. >:K

Staedtler Fibre Marker
I bought a set of 12 for $5 at Popular - I think I've said enough hahaha.

Breathing his last breath...
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the passing of the ZIG Laundry Pen.
He breathed his last breath today.
He was a good & faithful marker pen.
Let us have a moment of silence in remembrance of this wonderful marker.

*cue moment of silence*

*end moment of silence*
May he RIP.

Hehehehe.
And there you have it! A Medusa Hat (black marker, A4).

Brain Dead #2
I was just thinking that I'd really love to have t-shirts with this stuff on it. :B

I just want this on a shirt.

Blocks - inspired by the hole puncher on my table

Stuff I Draw When I'm Brain Dead
Sometimes I don't want to use my brain. But I still want to draw. So I have found a compromise!

Basically when I'm brain dead I really enjoy drawing shapes and then colouring them in. It's like designing your own colouring book! I have an entire sketchbook dedicated to this stuff, but for this post I'll just show three. Maybe more in another post.

It's pretty fun 'cos I get to choose colour combos and then mindlessly colour while listening to loud dance music (hahaha).

Orange, purple, green, grey, brown, white.

Red, yellow, green, blue, purple, white.

Yellow, orange, blue, grey, white

I drew these with black markers (you have no idea how many black markers I've gone through in the past month alone - it's ridiculous) and coloured marker pens. Pretty easy!

In order to prevent that streaky pen-mark look that you sometimes get from using coloured markers, what I do is that I colour the shape continuously & evenly with the marker in one direction only. After that I colour another even layer over it in another direction. It works!

Actually in the first one on top, there's one grey bit with streaks on it.
That's the kind of effect I try to avoid. >:(

Something else to be careful of is your black marker. Once you start colouring the black shapes with coloured markers, the black ink may start streaking onto the coloured bits! That really irritates me (grrrrrr).

AND SOMETIMES, the black marker shit gets onto the coloured parts (you know, fluff from the marker nip that comes off when you use it - ugh). Even more irritating but not the end of the world still.

Stuff to draw when you're brain dead.
