The past month of absence has been spent enjoying the holidays! So I sort of neglected this blog (oops) but well I'm back and I've been drawing quite a bit! 

Almost 25% done!

For the black lines I used my normal ZIG markers. But I ran out of ZIGs, so I frantically went to a shop nearby to buy more. You won't believe how many black markers I run through!

Couldn't find any so I bought a different kind! It's a Japanese brand called TOMBO, and their markers are pretty good. I have a calligraphy pen from TOMBO - it's pretty good!

My only problem with the PlayColor 2 (the TOMBO marker I got) is that the ink gets all funky and turns yellow behind the page, like so.

Yellow stuff = TOMBO. Black stuff = ZIG.

The Medusa Hat

So I sat down with my sketchbook, took a pencil & started moving my hand around.

Somehow, it came to this..?

Draft - even I was surprised when I saw the Medusa crap.

Face finished, let's move on to the Medusa Hat!

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the passing of the ZIG Laundry Pen. 

He breathed his last breath today. 

He was a good & faithful marker pen. 

Let us have a moment of silence in remembrance of this wonderful marker.

May he RIP.

All Wrapped Up #2

Been obsessed with clothy things, I reckon... All those tempting creases and folds and whatever. Drew this one just yesterday (28/11/2011)
Here's the step-by-step progression of another All Wrapped Up (pencil, graphite, A4).

My arsenal!

From left: architect's pencil, 3 normal 2B pencils (the black one is from Muji), an abused eraser and a Cretacolour 6B graphite

Rough sketch

Almost 1/3 of the way there...

Shading of the little lady swathed in cloth done! 

I used the 3 2B colour pencils (all of which seem to produce different shading effects) and the abused eraser. 

Halfway! Haleyllooyah.

For the swathy cloth, I only used the graphite. It's so nice to colour with.

Pedo-saur

Hi there, 

Say a hearty hello to Pedo-saur. 

Affectionately known as Pedo-saur.

Pedo-saur here is my pedo-buddy. We love to sit together at Starbucks and perv at people who walk past. 

Pedo-saur, you are truly my best friend. 

(In all honesty I didn't mean to draw a pedo-looking dinosaur, but my friend saw it and immediately called it out so I guess there's no turning back from that one.) 

Some background info:

I love dinosaurs. Always have, always will! 

The fact that they're extinct means that pretty much every picture you've ever seen of a dino is an artist's impression. This is the only animal that has been left to a person's imagination, so who's to say Pedo-saur's neck is too long or his feet are too stumpy?

Enjoy his pedo-face.

PS. I just made a tumblr (check the links). Surprisingly easy to use, rather idiot-proof actually. This make idiot-like me quite happy.
